Lewis & Garnet Bond
High school sweet hearts with a passion for cooking. Born and raised in Ashland Kentucky, Lewis and Garnet Bond grew up around home cooked meals and family time. Lewis would later bring his enjoyment for food with him to the Ashland fire department where he was the chef for his station until he retired in 1989. Nicknamed Luigi by his fellow firefighters, Lewis knew how to have a good time while making sure everyone was fed.
Moving to the Sunshine State
In 1990, Garnet and Lewis Bond moved to Sarasota Florida where they took over a small family business, Joe-Lin Lampshades, which is still in business today. Lewis would continue to cook and feed anyone and everyone he could. Food was always his way of feeding the body, mind, and soul.
Jennifer & Corey Pope
Fast forward 30 years, Owners Jennifer & Corey Pope of Venice Island Coffee have opened up a second location in honor of her late father, Louie's Bistro. Bringing home cooked meals and mixing it with a family friendly environment.
Louie's Bistro of Wellen Park
From breakfast sandwiches and quiche, to wraps and salads. This beautiful bistro has more to offer then one might think. Attached to the Wellen Park Welcome Center, not only is the location convenient, but it is perfect for that work meeting, a quick bite, or just to enjoy a fantastic cup of coffee.
